Budget carrier Vietjet has been honoured for its corporate sustainability during the award ceremony hosted by Nhịp Cầu Đầu Tư magazine.

This year, Vietjet has been voted and honoured in two important categories – outstanding sustainable transport and HR strategy for sustainable development”, recognising Vietjet’s special results in sustainable development programmes, green transition, low carbon strategy, aiming at using green energy, saving and efficiency as well as managing human resources most effectively and optimally.

As a sustainable development enterprise, Vietjet has implemented many environmental protection and sustainable development activities since its establishment by optimising resources.

Vietjet is a pioneering airline in implementing green transition, using a modern fleet with the ability to save up to 20 per cent of fuel to reduce emissions released into the environment, optimising aircraft configuration, pioneering the use of electronic tickets instead of paper tickets to minimise the use of paper and ink.

The airline’s current inflight service equipment also uses environmentally friendly, recyclable materials such as areca, bamboo, coconut, and biodegradable packaging, aiming to reduce net emissions to zero by 2050.

Vietjet has also taken the initiative in participating in research, development, and use of sustainable aviation fuel, aiming to become a green airline, leading in technology, environmentally friendly, and activities associated with sustainable development.

In addition, Vietjet has been named in the category of human resource strategy for sustainable development thanks to its financial indicators, labour policies; working environment, leadership, and corporate management, awards, titles, and special achievements that have been recognised in business, activities demonstrating the company’s responsibility to society, to employees and employees’ children.

Vietjet currently has a high-quality human resource with more than 6,000 employees from more than 50 countries and territories. Every year, thousands of candidates apply to Vietjet because it not only has good income and benefits but also a professional working environment with open career development opportunities.

The Top 50 Corporate Sustainability Award is an annual one initiated by Nhịp Cầu Đầu Tư magazine to promote the trend of sustainable development to spread widely in the business community and Vietnamese society while recognising and honouring businesses that have contributed to sustainable development, environmental friendliness, and social justice.

The award also contributes to raising awareness and inspiring sustainable development and environmental protection for the community.
