Heritage hub to promote solar power systems at industrial park

Local SolarBK Group, the leading solar power company in Việt Nam, has put into operation of a roof-top solar power system at the An Phú Spinning Company in Phú Bài Industrial Park, using all make-in-Việt Nam IREX solar panels and technology and saving from 2,500 to 3,000 tonnes of carbon emission into environment.

SolarBK Group, the leading solar power company in Việt Nam, has put into operation a roof-top solar power system at An Phú Spinning Company in Phú Bài Industrial Park, using all made-in-Việt Nam IREX solar panels and technology to prevent 2,500 to 3,000 tonnes of carbon emissions into the environment.

The company said the An Phú Spinning project has a capacity of 2.7 Megawatt Peak (MWp) for producing from 3.7 to 4.4 million kilowatts per year, and saving billions of Vietnamese đồng of power use at the factory.

It said another rooftop solar power system has been under construction at the Phú Bài Spinning company in the IP with a designed capacity of 3.2MWp.

The solar power system manufacturer also inked three other contracts to build rooftop solar power projects for local partners, including Mikado MT Huế with a capacity of 1.75MWp, MDF VRG Quảng Trị wood company (1.87MWp) and Sedo Vinako Quảng Nam (3.8MWp).

Huế City, a tourism hub in central Việt Nam, aims to become a ‘green’ and ‘smart’ city, and a ‘zero plastic waste’ destination by 2030.

The city has been implementing an innovative public bike-sharing scheme, a co-operative programme with the International Co-operation Agency of Germany (GIZ) and tech firm Vietsoftpro, and promoting the use of battery-powered public transport vehicles.

A report showed that Huế has more than 1,800 hours of sunshine each year, with high solar radiation of 4.33 kWh per square metre each day.

The local renewable energy provider, in co-operation with Banpu NEXT, a leading a leading Net Zero Solutions provider in Asia-Pacific from Thailand, agreed to establish joint-venture company ‘Esco NEXT’ (Esco Next Company Limited) to expand the scale of renewable energy development in Việt Nam by building at least 390 MW of rooftop solar power with a variety of comprehensive green energy solutions for businesses seeking a greener and smarter energy transition.

It said all projects have been contributing to the goal of achieving Net-Zero Carbon by 2050.

SolarBK, in partnership with VinES, aim to contribute to the Việt Nam Power Development Plan VIII by having at least 50 per cent of office and residential buildings with rooftop solar systems installed by 2030.

The company has been developing projects including Lego (7.34 MW), the Vincom retail chain of 59 shopping malls (16 MW), Việt Nam’s largest solar power project at Vinfast (30 MW) and Prime Group (8.5 MW).

The HCM City-based solar solutions provider built made-in-Việt Nam lighting projects on Trường Sa (Spratly) archipelago (8 MW), and was the first provider of the solar system monitoring and control technology in Việt Nam, which was a solar-powered lighting system and solar powered sea-water filtration system on Song Tử Tây (Southwest Cay) Island off the coast of Khánh Hòa Province, and An Bình Islet of Lý Sơn Islands in Quảng Ngãi Province, along with off-grid solar power projects on the Thổ Chu Islands, Sơn Chà Islet.

It has also completed solar and wind-power projects in 33 islands and islets and 15 DK1 platforms (offshore steel rigs for providing maritime services and research); systems for centres for children with disabilities in Quảng Ngãi and an ethnic school in Đắk Lắk; and a ‘green energy for schools’ programme for extremely disadvantaged schools in the northwest region of Việt Nam.

A local renewable energy group had provided a One-Stop-Shop package, including solar power cells, panels, installation, a smart monitoring system (Solar System Operation Centre) and guarantees for customers in North America with a total capacity of 300MWp (photo-voltaic cells).
