The summit, scheduled for April 14 – 17, is expected to bring together approximately 800-1,000 delegates from over 50 countries, international organizations, investment funds, research institutes, and businesses.

Delegates will share insights, showcase innovations and develop actionable strategies that support innovation and entrepreneurship, accelerate global climate finance and deliver country level climate transitions.

After hearing reports, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son emphasized that the hosting of the event is an opportunity for Vietnam to affirm its role in multilateral dialogue mechanisms, and promote international cooperation in climate change response, emissions reduction, and economic transformation.

The summit will also help Vietnam to introduce its socio-economic achievements and mobilize international resources for sustainable development goals, he said.

To ensure the success of the summit, the Deputy PM called for professional organization across all aspects, including content, logistics, security, and media outreach. He suggested that the summit’s agenda include an additional session on just energy transition, alongside four existing discussions on sustainable finance, food system transformation, breakthrough technologies, and human capital development.

According to the Deputy PM, Vietnam will also invite ASEAN leaders to participate in the event so as to highlight regional solidarity in shaping global issues. Public outreach, transportation, protocol, and cultural programs must be finalized in advance to ensure a well-executed and impactful event.
