Net-Zero initiatives and green energy efforts took center stage at Energy Taiwan & Net-Zero Taiwan 2024, Taiwan’s largest B2B trade show dedicated to renewable energy and the path to net-zero.

Alongside the green energy solutions on display, organizers of the event held a Carbon Academy, with experts from industry, government, and academia attending. Participants included Microsoft Taiwan, Taiwan’s top three accounting firms, Tesla Energy, and National Chung Hsing University.

This academy received an enthusiastic response, with over 210 participants. Experts from the big three accounting firms, Microsoft Taiwan, Tesla Energy, and National Chung Hsing University shared insights on net-zero trends and eased corporate carbon anxiety.

To drive net-zero governance, companies must understand the difference between carbon management and carbon governance, and work with certification bodies to address challenges related to timing, talent, and credibility, Professor Lin Kuan-chu of National Chung Hsing University said at the academy.

Microsoft Taiwan’s general manager for Commercial Business, Lee Kuang-yao, said that digital technology will assist businesses in driving transformation by creating a data-centric automated sustainable management platform to build a sustainable future.

The event also included several forums held online and in person. These include the “Solar PV Technology Forum,” “International Net Zero Summit Forum,” “International Smart Energy Storage Forum.”

Co-hosted by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and the Green Energy and Sustainability Alliance (GESA), Energy Taiwan and Net-Zero Taiwan 2024 concluded successfully on October 6.

Energy Taiwan and Net-Zero Taiwan 2024 saw a record-breaking participation of 480 companies and 1,625 booths, attracting nearly 20,000 industry professionals over three days. Despite the exhibition being postponed by two days due to the typhoon, 705 international buyers stayed in Taiwan to attend.

The top five countries represented were Singapore, Japan, the United States, Vietnam, and China. Additionally, 38 buyers from 19 countries took part in over 130 procurement meetings during the industry and government procurement matchmaking sessions.
