The contest is taking place from July 15, with the exhibition and award ceremony scheduled for the end of September.

Photo Contest 2023: Circular Economy has been organised to seek out exemplary photographic works that promote the benefits and importance of the circular economy in terms of resource utilisation, pollution reduction, environmental degradation, and climate change mitigation.

The contest aims to enhance the quality of information and communication about the circular economy across various media channels. Additionally, it provides an enriching and engaging platform for both professional and amateur photographers in Vietnam to create and showcase beautiful works related to the circular economy.

The most outstanding photographic works will be selected and exhibited at the C asean Vietnam in Hanoi (Melia Hotel lobby, 44B Ly Thuong Kiet, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi).

The first, second, and third prizes are also expected to be exhibited at the Sustainability Expo 2023 in Bangkok, Thailand.

The contest results will contribute to building a high-quality photographic repository to support the publication of materials and promotional items showcasing the circular economy model within the community. The event will also contribute to the development of the National Action Plan for Circular Economy Implementation.

The competition is open to Vietnamese citizens and foreigners residing and working in Vietnam, aged 18 and above, without any legal violations. The submitted photos should be original, unedited, in digital format (JPG), with a file size of at least 3MB, a resolution of 300 dpi, and a minimum length of 3,500 pixels.

The content of photos should reflect the circular economy model, focusing on aspects such as reducing the exploitation and use of non-renewable resources, including water, and increasing the efficiency of resource utilisation.

Other elements could include energy conservation, extending the lifespan of materials, equipment, products, components, and structures, as well as minimising waste generation, including solid waste, wastewater, and emissions.

In addition, the content of the photos can also focus on pressing topics like reducing the use of hazardous chemicals, waste recycling and energy recovery, reducing single-use products, promoting green procurement, developing and using clean and renewable energy as stipulated by the law, implementing industrial symbiosis activities in accordance with the regulations on industrial park and economic zone management, applying environmentally friendly transportation solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and more.

Photographers can submit their photos directly on the website at: anhkinhtetuanhoan.com.

The submission period runs from the launch date until 11.59pm on August 24.

Detailed contest regulations and other information will be continuously updated on the above website.

The organising committee will award the winning entries including one First Prize of VND10 million ($423), two Second Prizes of VND7 million ($296) each, two Third Prizes of VND5 million ($211.5) each, and five Encouragement Prizes of VND1.5 million ($63.45) per prize.

The award-winning works will be presented at the prize-giving ceremony by the organising committee, exhibited at the C asean Vietnam venue in Hanoi, and used for promoting the construction of the circular economy model.
